So I have to get into the habit of posting regularly, just for you less avid readers… my long spills of text can be a bit daunting, as I’ve said before I do enjoy a good ramble :P. Anyway… slightly off topic :P
So as probably none of you have heard, as I’ve been saving the post for this, I decided to splurge on a new camera, D7000. Cue the Oooh’s… Overall its an amazing camera performing far beyond my expectations and learning new things about it all the time. From a technical perspective, as you hoped there would be, there is a vast improvment on the little things. My maximum resolution has increased, the camera itself now has an in-built motor focusing system, HD Movie mode et cetera et cetera…. but I think its just a great step in the right direction :D (Nikon… just for all you canon fanboys/girls out there)
So anyway… again…
Another camera I recently bought has to be the cheapest camera I’ve ever owned… and I used to shoot with a £35 vivitar (I’m not knocking the cheap it helped me focus on the photo itself rather than the tecnical accuracy, and here I’m using this as an example for the extreme cheapness…). The camera cost me £16 from a stall on Grassmarket. It’s amazing! Gotta love it with the leather and the metal and all the bits… Ok so its an old camera… Roughly from 1926 so It’s survived at least one war and can still be used. Its a No. 2 Folding Autographic Brownie. Pictured here:
Its not really a product shot… just happened to have this one I took lying around :P
So I Did my first pre-wedding shoot not so long ago….
Had a great time In Earlston snapping away with Julie & Alistair and all the best to them in the future. As always its a learning curve and I hope they’re pleased with the shots.
I guess I should really round it off about here… I’ve managed to make another post that really hasn’t said anything… Any questions don’t be afraid to contact me: KrisD.Photography@hotmail.co.uk, and If you’d like to see more of my shots, dunno why you would :P, you can see them here: www.Facebook.com/KrisD.Photography

So as I said It’s been a while since I last posted, or rather made my opening statement, and I figure it’s time for an update… And well I’ve not really done much in terms of photography. Kinda letting the title of PhotoMAN go to waste really :P. I have, however, received some new photo gear; for the most part its some kind of lighting accessory whether it be a soft box, ring flash adaptor or TTL cable but I did also get various lengths of extension tube.
I’m not going to go into the fine details of all of these things off the cuff because I don’t want to come across as a photo geek… I’d be lying but thats not the point :P If you would like to know anything about gear I’ve mentioned or would like some tips on gear or photos etc feel free to ask any questions on here, my facebook page www.facebook.com/KrisD.Photography or if its something you’re embarressed to ask you can E-mail me any time on KrisD.Photography@hotmail.co.uk and I’ll try to get back to you with an answer asap.
In terms of actually taking photos I want to get back into the swing of my project 52 which in upcoming weeks I may not be able to update on a weekly basis so I’d like to get the good of some free time. So if you’d like to be involved in a project or any of my shoots (in front or behind the lens :P) as I’ve said feel free to post on my facebook wall or email me and I’ll try to get you involved in something I’ve mashed together :D
I think I’ve again rambled enough now… I’ll catch you later alligator :P

Oh and here’s a photo of my friend using my new TTL Cable and soft box :P

I guess I should really start by saying Bonjour, Hyvää Päivää, 你好, Привет and finally Hello :D
I’ve been taking photos for as long as I remember, whether it be ruining a roll of my dads best 35mm to borrowing tiny little compacts for memorable snaps. For over a year now I’ve had my own digital SLR and I’ve had so many experiences already! When I first bought it I was pestering my friends all the time with my lens in their face but after a few months I wanted to go deeper into the photographic world and soon immersed myself in mountains upon moutains of technical specs and numbers totally forgetting about taking photographs at this point!
Soon after I managed to rope myself a job in a night club (I hesitate to mention which club :P) which I learned quite a bit from. It could’ve been the exposure to other photographers or even just getting stuck in and producing relatively good shots of drunk people. One thing I learned, of many, was how to dodge spilled drinks on a dancefloor :D
And that takes me up to more recently where I’ve been home more and rather than shooting drunks I get to take photos of my family and particularly my neices. It has come to the point where the oldest will see me and immediately shout “Cheese” giving me her best smile (of course my camera still in its bag and another good moment missed :P). Other than that I’ve tried setting up some model shoots with close friends and they’ve come out far greater than I could imagine and I compliment my friends for putting up with me :D
I think thats enough rambling for now… Let me know if I should ramble some more?
